House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced on Wednesday that the House of Representatives will vote on limiting Trump's war powers amid the Iran crisis. She said that members of Congress "have serious, urgent concerns about the Administration's decision to engage in hostilities against Iran and about its lack of strategy moving forward. Our concerns were not addressed by the President's insufficient War Powers Act notification and by the Administration's briefing today,"
This decision came only a week after Trump ordered the surprise killing of Iranian Major General Qassem Soleimani, head of the Quds Force within the Revolutionary Guard, and Iraqi militia commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, of the Popular Mobilization Forces. The two me were killed in the rocket attack on Baghdad International Airport last Friday.
